Itinerary

Day 1

Depart aboard our deluxe motorcoach as we head to Pennsylvania to experience the beauty of the holidays. We begin with a visit to the HAGLEY MUSEUM & LIBRARY the former industrial site of the original black powder works of the du Pont Company. Celebrate the French holiday traditions that the du Pont family would have enjoyed here at their ancestral American home. 2 nights at the INN AT MENDENHALL HOTEL including a WINE & CHEESE RECEPTION and WELCOME DINNER.

Day 2

Arrive at WINTERTHUR MUSEUM, owned by Henry Francis du Pont, this is the home where family and friends gathered each year to celebrate the holidays. Holiday visitors will find themselves walking in the footsteps of the du Pont’s own guests as they visit the exquisitely decorated spaces that recall the warmth and beauty of the season in this most elegant of country homes. This evening visit LONGWOOD GARDENS, the former estate of Pierre S. du Pont, and home to 11,000 types of plants. From towering trees that touch the sky to acres of twinkling lights, A Longwood Christmas makes your holiday oh so merry and bright. The Christmas spectacular includes over 500,000 lights, thousands of brilliant poinsettias, towering Christmas trees and fragrant flowers blooming in the Conservatory’s Crystal Palace. Enjoy dinner tonight with your $30 LONGWOOD GARDENS DINING DOLLARS while we are at the Gardens.

Day 3

This morning visit the BRANDYWINE RIVER MUSEUM to see their fabulous holiday display including an extensive model train display, Victorian dollhouse, thousands of natural “critter” ornaments on holiday trees, plus the art collection of the Wyeth Family. Head for home after our wonderful holiday adventure.
